Chiropractic Neurology and Functional Neurology is a newer model of healthcare. Dr. Quarneri combines Chiropractic care, Physiotherapy, Functional Neurology and Nutrition in an effort to rehabilitate a wide range of neurological and musculoskeletal conditions.
Brain-based conditions tend to result from a deterioration of function in the sensory or motor relay centers or pathways in the nervous system. Unfortunately, in some cases, this deterioration may be irreparable but can be positively influenced. These disorders typically stem from areas of the brain that are either under-active or overactive in their function causing the perceived symptoms. Patient-specific brain-based exercises can help correct these extremes to return function to normal and in turn, may improve or alleviate the symptoms of a patient's condition. Brain-based rehabilitation exercises differ for each person depending on his or her unique needs. Treatments are performed by utilizing the following: chiropractic manipulations, neuromuscular re-education exercises, and/or stimulation of the visual, vestibular (balance), auditory and/or other sensory feedback. Patient's may view the exercises as odd or unusual; however, they promote very specific input to select areas in the brain.
When evaluating patients, Dr. Quarneri looks for asymmetry in the function of the nervous system from left to right. From there, he creates a treatment plan including exercise programs with the goal to create more balance and stability in the system. He utilizes a wide variety of receptors such as light therapy, visual therapy, eye exercises, foam pad balancing, wobble board exercises, spinning, vibration, or a combination of these therapies as well as applications used on an iPad or personal device.
Our unique service has been found to help people where other therapies have failed. And in some case despite all our best clinical efforts change is not possible. However, Dr. Quarneri will do his best to help you improve your quality of life.
